The designs on most Flip skateboards portray whimsical characters and use cool, calming colors that complement each other. Some boards do deviate from this theme, depicting street and punk tendencies especially boards with logo treatments. Flip wheels also come in delectable designs that pop right off the picture. They are more thematically varied than the decks. But, though appealing, Flip’s skateboard graphics lack that manly edge and punchy quality that invariably appeal to the male ego.
While the “good pop” factor is still present, it just does not give as much of a kick for consumers compared with other brands. Like some other brands, Flip does not boast of any fancy construction features that make it different from others. It simply relies on its good-quality, 7-ply make to take it to the top. Flip boards seem to be good for technical skateboarding, on the halfpipes and for going down on ramps. Also, the brand’s name seems to have been taken from the better flip tricks that can be done off a Flip board.
Flip skateboards are basically ordinary boards that can last a skater for some months. It has no real or imagined specialty to boost its publicity. Flip’s edge mainly lies in the strikingly creative graphic arts found on many of its decks.
